Procurement Manager

Hours- 07:30am to 16:00pm

Excellent opportunity for a procurement manager with experience within the construction industry with a good knowledge of building materials.

Key duties

The Procurement Manager manages and oversees a company’s sourcing capabilities and supply chain and are responsible for finding and evaluating suppliers, products and services, negotiating contracts and acquiring the most cost-efficient deals without compromising on quality.

Key Performance Areas

* Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs

* Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management

* Delegating tasks and supervising the work of Purchasing and Procurement Agents across all departments

* Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results

* Managing Assistant Buyer and delegating tasks as required for the company

* Managing overall direction, coordination and evaluation of procurement for the organisation

* Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business

* Creating policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation

* Supplier and Sub-Contractor auditing

* Quarterly Supplier KPI Review and Spend

* Material requirement forecasting

* Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers

* Prepare and raise Purchase Orders and order to scheduled dates

* Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings, utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods

* Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations

* Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for best pricing

* Analyse market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions

* Conduct comparative analyses of quotes and negotiations to secure lower prices on the company needs

Minimum Qualifications

* Procurement qualifications

* Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply qualification an added advantage

Experience

Minimum of three years’ work experience in Procurement Supervision or Building Control

Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown

Skills

* Fully computer Literate in MS Office Suite and the willingness to learn in-house and other software programmes

* Excellent negotiation skills

* Excellent communication skills

* Sound analytical skills with a methodical, systematic process-driven approach to tasks

* Positive and “can do” approach to work

* Clear leadership qualities

* Collaborative team player
